Sega has announced that they will close three of their Phantasy Star Online servers for Dreamcast, so they can test the GameCube version.

The company will close down the Carme, Anake, and Leda servers on May 25. They will then be changed so they can run a trial version of Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II for the GameCube.

Sega will release a trial version Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II in Japan this Spring. Gamers can then test multiple online campaigns and a four-player offline mode.

EA announced that Nintendo has sold 400,000 GCN consoles during it's launch!

Thursday, the 9th of May, EA announced in their Earnings Conference Call that Nintendo has sold 400,000 GameCube consoles during it's launch in Europe. We have not been able to confirm this with Nintendo, but we don't see why EA would bring out false console sales numbers.

Skip to about 10 minutes in, and EA talks about hardware sales. And specifically, GC sales in Europe, so far.

If EA is right about these numbers... MAN!! The European release was a huge success! We will try and confirm this number with Nintendo as soon as possible!
